Using the Quickconnect feature

Quickconnect

Use these settings:

Set Host to an FQDN, for example cs.uwindsor.ca
Set Username to your UWinID (all in lowercase characters)
Set Password to your campus password
Set Port to 22 (this is required if the host URL does not include the protocol prefix!)

Press the Quickconnect button to open a new SFTP file transfer session.

Use these settings:

Set Host to a URL with an sftp:// prefix to the FQDN, example sftp://cs.uwindsor.ca
Set Username to your UWinID (all in lowercase characters)
Set Password to your campus password
DO NOT set the Port value

Press the Quickconnect button to open a new SFTP file transfer session.

If you have used Quickconnect to connect to this or other servers, you can select a saved session from the pull-down list to the right of the Quickconnect button.

Configuring a connection using the Site Manager

Connection limits

Open the Site Manager from the File menu.

Use these settings in the General tab:

Set Protocol to SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol
Set Host to an FQDN, for example myweb.cs.uwindsor.ca
Set Username to your UWinID (all in lowercase characters)
Set Password to your campus password

Use this setting in the Transfer Settings tab:

Check Limit number of simultaneous connections
You can set the Maximum number of connections to between 1 and 5. If this number is too high, the server may blacklist your IP for attempting to open too many sessions simultaneously.
